Are you caught in the middle of starting to connect with new people online and hearing pleas from others who wanted to go back to the way things were?

If you’re growing increasingly aware that you are less sure about the cultures around you then you once thought you were, you are not alone. One question that I see underlying a lot of public discussions lately is “Why Black Lives Matter? I thought we were all one race, the human race.” In a lot of ways, I know that this comes from a genuine place of wanting to love all people, as we believe we should. Here are a couple of reasons why this is actually offensive however, to all people.

I’m not doing it right, but I’m going with progress over perfection on this one. Because of my background, friends, and family, I’ve spent far too many years being silent about an injustice that I didn’t realize was mine to make right: racism. So here I am, imperfectly moving forward.
